A couple of weekends ago, I dismantled and packed away my winter decorations, and brought out the greenery, florals, and rabbits of spring!

This picture is from exactly one year ago today. A year ago, I was overwhelmed with feelings of fear and helplessness. News reports continued to come out detailing the fatal danger and wide range of the Coronavirus Disease 2019, but even though I kept hearing about other libraries nearby closing down all locations, the one where I worked still hadn’t made any announcements. I was terrified. So I focused on what I could control.

In the past ten years or so, since I started my first blog online and started making myself more and more publicly accessible and sharing my thoughts and opinions more often online (and in the pages of Enchanted Living) I’ve always had the same overall goals and themes in the work I share and the image I presented. I want to encourage people to notice the magic that is here all around us if we pay attention. I wanted to be a haven of positivity, a sanctuary, a safe place where beauty and enchantment reign.

All of the creatures of the Old Wood looked forward to the day each spring when the sisters came together to dance under the full blue moon. They were born many ages ago when old Mother Oak was still a sapling. Although they always felt the bond of sisterhood, as they grew older, they each felt drawn to different elements within the boundaries of the forest.

When I have a magical encounter, I want to remember it. But it slips away so easily.
