Welcome to Mythic March 2023! What is Mythic March, you might ask?

I am a woman obsessed with faeries who has never found a hagstone.* And believe me, it's not for lack of looking.

When I was a little girl, I heard someone talking to me from the pile of dirt next to my grandmother’s house.

When I go to the woods

I become a feral thing.

Losing myself in leaf litter and moss,

the smell of dirt mixed with melting snow.

Last night on my way home from work I was thinking about wild spaces in city landscapes and how easy it is to under-appreciate them. I'm not really talking about public parks. I mean the patchy little areas of scrub trees left to grow wild along the roads and highways to provide sound barriers between the houses and the cars speeding by.
